Follansbee Steel manufactures the world's most corrosive resistant carbon and stainless steel materials for use in applications where corrosion resistance is paramount, such as exterior architectural walls and roofs, particularly in coastal areas.

Follansbee's patented ZT® alloy coating transforms ordinary carbon or stainless steel into materials virtually impervious to corrosion by forming a permanent barrier to rust. These steel materials are delivered with the semi-reflective gray finish of ZT alloy, but over time, the alloy interacts with oxygen to form a soft, uniform and flat gray patina.

In low corrosive, exterior environments Follansbee materials do not require a color coating for added corrosion protection, but may be color-coated to achieve a specific aesthetic. In corrosive, exterior environments Follansbee's Terne II® carbon steel product must be color-coated to ensure maximum corrosion resistance; whereas, Follansbee's TCS II® stainless steel may remain unpainted.
