Rapidri® Paint System for Terne II® - ZT® Alloy Coated Steel

Follansbee's Rapidri® for Terne II® is a fast drying, specially formulated acrylic water-based paint system. Both the primer and finish coat dry quickly allowing a complete metal roof project to be finished in two days. Rapidri can be applied by brush, power spray or roller, which also helps to reduce painting time.

Rapidri offers enhanced durability and color retention and is available in 12 standard.

Terne II®

Follansbee's Terne II is an improved version of historic Terne metal. It has improved capability for resisting corrosion in all environments and excellent formability, solderability, and affinity for paint. Terne II is coated with Follansbee's patented ZT® alloy, which not only acts as a barrier, but also helps to reduce oxidation of the surface before painting.

It is often the first choice for restoration projects and is available in commercial and residential grades. Terne II is lightweight and can eliminate the need for special, load-bearing substructures. Follansbee offers 9 pre-formed profiles for metal roofing, including 6 standing seam profiles, and Terne II can also be used in flatlock, vertical wall designs and other applications.

Colors

Terne II is unique among architectural metals in its affinity for paint. Terne II must be painted using Follansbee Steel's specially formulated Rapidri® acrylic 2-part coating system. The Rapidri primer and finish coats are water-based acrylic coats that can be applied by brush, roller or power spray.
